The Build

This F82 M4 is our daily that doubles as a serious track weapon. The idea was simple: take what BMW did with the M4 GT4 race car and bring as much of it as possible to a street-legal build. No half measures—real GT4 parts where it matters, proper cooling, and chassis setup that actually works on track.

The S55 was already a solid base, so instead of chasing big power numbers we focused on making the car work as a complete package. 500hp map, GTS gearbox and diff calibration, and then everything around it to handle the power: cooling, brakes, suspension geometry, aero. Every upgrade was chosen because we needed it, not because it looked good on a spec sheet.

This build has evolved through three phases. Each one addressed what we learned from the previous track sessions. That's how you build a car properly—drive it, find the weak points, fix them, repeat.

Build Timeline

Phase 1 — Early 2025

The Foundation

Full GT4-inspired transformation. KW V3 coilovers with Millway camber plates, rear uniballs matching the GT4 spec, front arm uniball bushings from Millway, and a homemade custom alignment. RSL29 pads with braided brake lines. Real M4 GT4 canards, GT4-style front splitter, brake ducts from the GT4 front bumper, and a street-legal rear wing. Engine mapped to 500hp with GTS gearbox, diff, and MDM calibrations. Full DO88 cooling overhaul—intercooler, dual intercooler radiators, and oil cooler. Japan Racing SL-01 19" lightweight wheels. Interior got the full treatment: AKMotion screen, Carplay retrofit, alcantara steering wheel with carbon paddles, GTS rear lights, and carbon and alcantara everywhere.

Phase 2 — Late 2025

Track Refinement

After a few track days we knew what needed to change. Upgraded to KW V3 Clubsport with custom spring ratings front and rear, new custom alignment to match. Swapped to 18" Racing Division wheels for better tire options. Installed Recaro Pole Position seats on OEM electric rails with a custom button solution to keep heated cushions working. Rear seat delete. Schroth harness. Fully disabled the electronic suspension and removed the KW cancellation kit—no more compromises.

Phase 3 — 2026

Braking Power

The OEM brakes were the last weak point. AP Racing big brake kit front and rear with RSL29 pads. Wheel studs conversion kit. New Protrack 18" wheels to clear the AP Racing calipers.
